Do’s and Don’ts for Experiencing the Perfect Hawaiian Family Vacation

Hawaii is often counted amongst the best vacation destinations in the world, and with good reason! This string of islands is a tropical oasis located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Once you experience the aloha spirit and explore the lush forests and brilliant blue waters, you’ll understand why every traveler dreams of visiting Hawaii. With direct flights from the continental US and an abundance of family-friendly accommodations, Hawaii is the perfect destination for your next family vacation.

With so much to see and do in Hawaii, I’ve made a list of do’s and don’ts to help you make the most of your trip!

Do visit in the off-season.
Most people think traveling in the off-season means you’ll miss the best weather, festivals, etc., but it’s quite the opposite! In the absence of tourists crowing the islands, you’ll have more access to some of the island’s biggest attractions and surprisingly low rates. The off-season in Hawaii runs from May to October, and since the weather is excellent all year round, you don’t have to worry about missing out on the sun!

Don’t travel during holidays – if you can avoid it.
The holidays always seem like the best time to take a family vacation. However, if you are looking for a peaceful and low-key holiday season, Hawaii is not for you. During the holidays and on long weekends when school is out, tourists flock to the islands. Many locals will also be on vacation, so good luck getting a spot on the beach!

Do splurge on an adventure.
Hawaii is full of adventure! There is so much to explore, from whale watching and scuba diving to surfing lessons and helicopter tours. Go all out and pick an adventure that is fun for the whole family!

Don’t try to see everything.
Eight main islands make up the state of Hawaii, the largest of which is the island of Hawaii. Each island offers a very different experience from the next, and you could spend weeks just exploring one place. Don’t stress yourself out and rush your trip by trying to see it all. Visit your must-see sights and leave the rest of the time for relaxing and unexpected adventures!

Do relax and have fun.
Relaxing and having fun with your family is the whole reason why you came to Hawaii! Make that your number one priority, and leave the rest to me!
